A black plastic slab with a 'console' that projects from the front like a piano keyboard. The console is silver, has rocker switch for power, and seven square indicator lights. The most prominent labels say: 'USRobotics', '56K Faxmodem', and 'v.92'.

I ordered this on eBay, originally to be the inbound modem on the Pi Mini Server. It didn't seem to work for that, possibly due to the USB-to-Serial adapter. So I found a modern USB modem to use on the Pi. This modem is now connected to the NuXT. It is able to dial into the Pi at 48000 baud, which seems to be the limit for ATAs, if not for peer-to-peer dialing generally.
